As a direct result of Sotravic Limitée’s initiative and focused drive towards innovative green engineering solutions, the installation of an upgraded landfill gas extraction system has allowed the Waste Landfill site to become an important source of renewable energy for Mauritius.

Sotravic installed 3 no Landfill Gas generators and commencing 2012, the 3,3 Mw power plant produces 22 GWh annually of renewable electricity which provides electricity for 50,000 people in Mauritius daily (which presents 1% of Mauritius's network capacity).

Sotravic can deploy material recovery facilities suitable for sorting recyclables and Anaerobic digesters to degrade organic waste and produce biogas in a controlled environment.
